Dish Gardens

A true dish garden has no drainage and must be carefully watered and tended. Dish gardens generally are planted in a ceramic dish although many people refer to basket gardens or European garden baskets as dish gardens. Dish Gardens are unique not only for their attractiveness but for their utter defiance of the rules of gardening. To make a foliage dish garden attractive they must be stuffed with as many plants as will fit. They look as if they are crowded and need to be transplanted the minute they arrive.
